Guns & Artillery

How to Maintain Proper Humidity Levels for Guns, Rifles & Other Artillery & Firearms

Excess moisture causes metals to corrode. Steel and iron, especially those having a bright polish, are very susceptible to rust. A simple way to help preserve your guns is to store them in a relatively dry environment, but not so dry that the wood dries out. Ideal humidity for guns and rifles is between 45% and 50%.
Proper care for your guns, artillery and firearms includes oiling, which is best done according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Always take care not to get oil on the grips or stock.
